Company Description

PharmacoGenetics Limited (PGL) is a Hong Kong-based biotechnology company established under the entrepreneurship program of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). We are an I&T partner company of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP). PGL is dedicated to developing innovative pharmaceutical, health supplement, and diagnostic products focused on central nervous system (CNS) diseases. We are the only genomic medicine company in Hong Kong supported by both the government and a major university, with access to genetic samples and clinical venues throughout China.

Company History

Founded in 2004, PGL achieved a major breakthrough in mental disease research, leveraging proven technology in genetics and drug development. Our research has identified several candidates from traditional Chinese medicine for treating various neuropsychiatric disorders. Some of these candidates have obtained international patent protection and are entering clinical studies.

Our initial focus is on neuropsychiatric conditions, addressing a US$2 billion global market with significant unmet needs. Our team comprises prominent scientists, clinicians, and consultants, with access to a network of research leaders through our academic affiliations in Hong Kong, China, and globally.
